Paint removal chemicals- advice

Post by Jamesbarratt » Sun Sep 17, 2017 6:48 pm

Hi, I'm dealing with a lot of sash windows and am required to strip and prep the boxes. I am mostly dealing with multiple coats of old lead based paint, and currently using a heat gun. This takes a lot of time and labour. Someone recommended using a paint stripping gel. I have looked and found lots of various products. Can anyone advise me on an appropriate product? I will be using lots of it, so price is important as is the time it takes to work, obviously the faster the better. Any advice would be appreciated.

Fluxhaf works pretty well. There are "professional only" grade strippers available from places like J Penny Ltd, but the chemicals are pretty grim. I don't think I will ever use solvent based again
