Shading magnolia paint

Post by Inna » Tue Dec 18, 2018 2:31 pm

Hello oh gurus of decorating,

My decorator arrived with the 10l tub of magnolia paint, while I'm drooling over F&B colour pallet. The cost savings of using magnolia are substantial as I'm having the whole house redecorated and will have to pay for any other paint on top of what he's already charging me. I want to add something into that tub to tone it away from the original magnolia shade. If I add natural grey or black, it may give me more of a taupe colour or a warmer grey. I'll obviously ensure that the added paint is of the same make and type.

Have anybody tried this and what was the result?

Thank you,

Haven't tried it , but you may find tinting it could be a bit of a nightmare especially if you run out and need to tint another tub and get exactly the same colour, why not go for johnstones paint , they have F+B colours already on their tinting machines for probably half the price of F&B (which most decs find overpriced and overated)
