Oak Veneer Doors

Post by Rdo1104 » Sun Nov 10, 2019 5:12 pm

Hi. Hoping for some guidance or peace of mind.....

I’ve had Oak veneer doors fitted throughout and starting treating them today with Osmo Polyx oil/wax based on several positive review. What I’ve noticed is that the horizontal section at the bottom appears several shades lighter than all of the other panels. What I’m wondering is if this will change as the oil is absorbed, will the shading deepen with additional coats or will that section always appear lighter.

Should I use something else that provides an additional colouration before applying the osmo?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can post a couple of photos if that would help

In my experience if it is a different colour before you start it will remain different. I would stain it. However don't ask me with what, that is your responsibility I'm afraid. Good luck.
